Who is Raythe / X. Aratare?

Raythe is the author, and all the MM stories in this shop and on RaytheReign.com are created by her.

Raythe started by creating detailed dramatic stories for her closest friends in high school and telling them face-to-face. In college, took creative writing classes – and got some valuable advice. After law school, she discovered the fanfiction community, which is where she started getting into MM fandom.

When she wanted to start writing original stories, she wanted to recreate the fandom experience with her own web novels. Posting chapter by chapter and getting comments was just like the way she told stories to her friends… and that grew up into our serial membership site RaytheReign.com.

Once Amazon and other places allowed independent publishing, Raythe started releasing completed stories as book series – and eventually set up this shop right here.

What can you expect from a Raythe Reign Story?

Raythe likes heroic tales with romantic plots, and most of her stories can be summed up like this:

“Hot heroes with badass powers fall in love and work together to save their world from evil.”

Here are some of the other promises that a Raythe Reign story delivers on:

Low angst queer relationships. As a queer person, Raythe is not about tragic gay love / doomed yaoi and yuri.
Magic of some kind. Whether it’s traditional spells, animal shifting, occult powers, psychic abilities, or magic objects, all Raythe’s stories are set in alternative worlds where there are forces beyond everyday life.
Found family, often with redeemed villains.
Justice. Raythe’s an attorney!
